Exciting New Conference!

We are at it again! The Patrick O’Daniel Braille Facility (formerly known as Mountain View Braille Facility), is hosting the SECOND Patrick O’Daniel Braille Facility Conference being held April 15-16, 2024, in Gatesville, TX. After the success of last year, we are seizing the opportunity to build upon that success and showcase the high levels of collaboration present within the braille community.

Our conference will again be organized in the style of other professional conferences with the goal of sharing as much braille knowledge and experience as we can fit into the two-day period through technical sessions and presentations. One of the aspects we’re doing differently this year is having some of our current inmates collaborating with an expert on the outside to create a presentation together. Topics being presented are Poetry, three Nemeth presentations, Passage Indicators in UEB, Chemistry (Technical), Technical Material, Keying Techniques, B2K, and more. We’re really excited about this opportunity to collaborate and network on a higher level and the involvement of more current inmates in the details of the conference.

Somehow we are even more excited than we were last year and it’s all because of the wonderful people that make up the past, present, and future of the Patrick O’Daniel Braille Facility.
